FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

THERE ARE SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR VISITORS AND REGULARS, ALIKE, TO ENJOY FELLOWSHIP.

BOOK STUDY GROUPS

All are welcome to attend either or both of the book study sessions which are held at church on Friday mornings (10:00 to 11:15am) and Sunday mornings (8:30 to 9:45am).

WEEKLY MEN'S BOOK STUDY

The men meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8pm to discuss books and ideas and to connect with each other.

QUILT MINISTRY

This group creates prayer quilts that are given to those in need and prayer squares that are available to all.  Beginners and experts, alike, enjoy this time of fellowship and stitching.  Check the Sower, the church's monthly newsletter, for meeting days and times.

MONTHLY MEN'S FELLOWSHIP

All men have a standing invitation to join together for breakfast on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8am at Danny's Deli; and lunch on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 12noon at Main Street Steakhouse on Main Street.

MONTHLY LADIES' LUNCH FELLOWSHIP

The ladies of the church meet for lunch on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  Location and time are noted in the weekly bulletin.

CHURCH OF THE FOOTHILLS CHOIR

The choir rehearses nearly every Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:00pm.  All are welcome to participate.  During the summer months the choir takes a well-deserved break.  Elizabeth Helms directs the choir and can be contacted for more information (elizhelms@gmail.com).

ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

SUNDAY MORNING SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES EMPHASIZE THE CONCEPT OF FAITH FORMATION, AN ON-GOING PROCESS OF DEVELOPING ONE'S SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL LIFE

We use the Joyful Path curriculum (Inner Wisdom Series) produced by Progressive Christianity.  Each unit of study is created on a foundational affirmation, such as "The life of Jesus helps me understand that I am one with all."

Weekly programming is provided:

  • Nursery care for infants and toddlers

  • Children in elementary grades

  • Jr. and Sr. high school age

Boards and Committees

Church of the Foothills is a congregational church, which means all leadership is participatory and all decisions are collective.  The following boards have been established to coordinate church life and operational requirements:

  • Trustees - plant, property, and fiscal matters

  • Deacons - support for worship services

  • Faith Formation - programs for children & adults

  • Outreach & Benevolence - support for local and global initiatives

  • Fellowship - weekly social hour and special events

  • Endowment - manage fund and annual dispersements

2020 Outreach & Benevolence Grants

Each year the church budgets resources to support local and global organizations that support the needs of people in need.  Grant applications are now being accepted for 2020.
