Special Events

• “The Matchmaker” is being presented by the Santa Paula Theater Center. Join a group for the Sunday matinee at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 1. The play has been described as a “fast-paced farce . . . a beloved American classic for the entire family to enjoy!” We will enjoy a dinner following the performance at La Cabana. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, paid at the door. Call Karen MacConell (525-4311) or sign up on the bulletin board so reservations can be made.

• Join church member Margaret Sawyer at an upcoming UCC Conference fundraiser, an authentic Samoan luau on August 21 in Altadena. She would like to get a group together to travel down to the event, which supports the Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ. Church BBQ -- Save the date! -- Sunday, September 12

The Fellowship Board is shouting out early about the Fall Festival, which will be on Sunday, September 12. We want to make sure that no one misses this Fall's extra special CATERED BBQ, thus this early announcement so you can plunk the date on your calendar right now! A modest fee of $10 for adults will be charged for a yummy meal. Meals for children of church members are free, and meals for children of guests are $5. Reservations are required because the meal is being catered, and a sign-up sheet will be appearing soon.

The Men's Breakfast Bunch will gather on the second and fourth Fridays of March. Plan to join us Friday, March 12, at 8:00 a.m., at Mimi's Café in front of the Pacific View Mall, corner of Mills and Main. Or, if you prefer to get an earlier start on your day, please meet with us Friday, March 26, at 7:00 a.m., at IHOP on Victoria Avenue. You are certainly welcome to participate in both fellowship opportunities. We hope to see you there!
